I am a graduate counseling student in the CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Counseling program at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, on track to graduate in August 2026 and pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate). I am passionate about supporting individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families as they move through life transitions, cultivate emotional resilience, and strengthen their most meaningful connections.

Before beginning my clinical training, I spent over 15 years in leadership, training, and people development—mentoring teams, supporting emerging professionals, and creating environments grounded in empathy, collaboration, and growth. These experiences deeply shaped my belief in the power of relationship, presence, and attuned support.

In my therapeutic work, I integrate developmentally informed, evidence-based approaches that honor each client’s lived experience and inner wisdom. I am actively training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, expressive arts and art therapy–informed practices, trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic methods that support emotional regulation, creative expression, and mind–body awareness. I draw from a blend of modalities based on what best serves each client, with the intention of fostering empowerment, supportive healing, self-worth, and a strengthened sense of identity. My goal is always to offer a warm, collaborative, culturally responsive space where clients can explore their stories with curiosity and compassion.

I have a special interest in supporting children and teens navigating anxiety, identity exploration, grief, or family transitions, as well as working with parents and families experiencing perinatal or postnatal changes, co-parenting adjustments, or relationship stress. I am committed to affirming each person’s strengths, cultural background, and intersecting identities while nurturing connection, safety, and emotional growth. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I’ve called Austin home for the last 13 years. Outside of my clinical training, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, traveling, practicing yoga, exploring local creative venues, and engaging with the community.

EMILY IS PARTICULARLY WELL-SUITED TO SUPPORT FAMILIES:

  • With adolescents and teens exploring identity, managing school or social stress, coping with grief, or experiencing shifting family dynamics, offering a nonjudgmental, collaborative space to build resilience, emotional insight, and self-confidence.

  • With parents, families, and couples adjusting to perinatal and postnatal changes, co-parenting transitions, or relational stress, supporting communication, connection, and understanding through a warm, culturally responsive, strengths-based lens.
