Caregivers need support, too!

From parent coaching to family therapy, peruse our additional offerings.

While we always start with individual sessions with your child, it can be helpful to explore additional resources to equip you with tools to fortify what we’re working on in our sessions. We only see your child once a week. And significant progress can be made during that time — but we also need your support to help reinforce what we’re working on at home, too.

Additional offerings to support YOU ♡

Family Play Therapy

Best suited for children under 10 years

Family Play Therapy is inclusive of children and takes into account their unique developmental level and is incorporated as part of the child’s individual treatment plan. By using play in the family session, a broader range of expression can be communicated than in words, providing an opportunity to observe, to assess, and to strengthen family interactions more readily. Play enhances the natural bond of the family!

Family Therapy

Best suited for children over 10 years

Family Therapy is useful in aiding communication efforts with a situation that is causing stress, grief, anger, or conflict within a family. It is often short-term and held for 60- or 90-minute sessions. Family Therapy can help you and your family members understand one another better and learn coping skills to bring you closer together.

Sibling Play Therapy

Best suited for children under 10 years

Sibling Play Therapy is helpful for children who struggle with sibling relationships, as well as emotional or behavioral problems. It provides opportunities for insight into oneself based on their relationship while also increasing appropriate social skills. Sibling Play Therapy helps children move towards functional relationships and personal growth.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Best suited for caregivers with children under 8 years

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based model for children 2-7 with disruptive behaviors. PCIT works to strengthen the parent-child relationship and teaches effective parenting strategies through live parent coaching. During sessions, the parent-child dyad plays and interacts while the therapist coaches parents to use specific skills through a bug-in-the-ear device.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)

Best suited for caregivers with children under 10 years

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), also called filial therapy, is a research-based, 10-week parenting course that teaches parents how to use some of the same skills that play therapists use to help children experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral problems. Research shows that motivated parents can be as effective as a professional in helping their child.

Parent Coaching

Best suited for caregivers with children of all ages

Parent Coaching supports and guides caregivers as they deal with the challenges of raising healthy, happy, and successful children. Parent Coaching focuses on the “here and now” offering practical, research-based recommendations that take into account your time, schedule, resources, cultural and spiritual beliefs, and family structure, and then steps back and let you “play.”

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

Best suited for caregivers with children of all ages

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is a short-term (roughly 12 sessions) caregiver-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety and OCD. The goal is to treat your child’s anxiety and the ability to manage it. This program focuses on the caregiver’s accommodations to the child’s anxiety, so this is ideal for children and teens who may be resistant to therapy.
