Hiring
This is a team that actually takes care of each other.
You already know how meaningful this work is. You also know how easy it is to land somewhere that asks everything of you and gives very little back. We built Ensemble differently, on purpose. Come see what that actually looks like.
THE REALITY OF THIS WORK, AND HOW WE SHOW UP
There's a lot of honest conversation happening right now about why therapists are burning out and leaving clinical work. We're paying attention to it. The system-level pressures are real: overloaded caseloads, productivity metrics that reduce meaningful treatment to billed hours, low reimbursement rates, and newer clinicians dropped into complex, high-acuity cases with little mentorship or scaffolding to hold them. Therapists aren't leaving because they've fallen out of love with the work. They're leaving because too many workplaces make it nearly impossible to do the work well.
We built Ensemble as an alternative to that. For more than a decade, we have been a leading child-focused mental health group practice in Austin, home to some of the most skilled play therapists in town. Our clinicians bring deep expertise across evidence-based modalities including Play Therapy, PCIT, PCIT for Toddlers, SPACE, CPRT, and EMDR, and they actively collaborate with each other. Case consultation isn't something that happens once in a while. It's part of how we work. And because we are a truly multidisciplinary team, that collaboration extends beyond the therapy room. Our in-house parenting coach, licensed specialist in school psychology, speech therapist, and occupational therapist are all part of the conversation. The collective knowledge on this team is one of the most valuable things about being here, and everyone is genuinely invested in sharing it.
You won't feel alone here. That's something we mean, not just say.
Grow with Us
Ensemble is guided by five values: Presence, Connection, Playfulness, Growth, and Equity. These shape not just how we serve our clients, but how we invest in the people on our team.
We're all lifelong learners here, and we put resources behind that. Clinicians receive an annual CEU stipend toward continuing education for their licensure(s), and performance bonuses are available for those building a full, consistent caseload averaging 20 sessions a week. We want this work to be financially sustainable, not just meaningful.
Beyond clinical hours, there are real opportunities to expand your reach into our community while developing your clinical voice. Clinicians can contribute to our blog, sharing expertise and perspective with the broader community. Through the Ensemble Learning Center, there are opportunities to present workshops and trainings for parents, caregivers and other professionals. There's also meaningful work in creating resources for families, helping caregivers feel more equipped to support the children in their lives.
If you want to get involved beyond your caseload, our active DEI committee focuses on internal growth at Ensemble, partners with the administrative team on ideas and systemic issues in the mental health field, and builds community connections outside our walls through partnership events, volunteering and fundraisers for our Whole Child. Whole City. fund. This is a direct expression of our mission: all children deserve equal access to mental health resources, and we serve families regardless of ability to pay.
And because this work asks a lot of you, we also want it to be genuinely enjoyable. There's an optional professional book club where we dig into topics together, books provided and yours to keep, plus a social book club for anyone who loves a good read (or the movie version). A little something for everyone.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're currently hiring fully licensed therapists (LPC, LCSW, LMFT or equivalent). The right person for our team is a self-starter who values collaboration over isolation, aligns with our mission and values, and brings a commitment to inclusive, affirming care. Clinical specialties in Play Therapy, PCIT, EMDR, IFS, or work with children and families are a strong fit for where we are right now.
We're not looking for someone who simply checks the boxes. We're looking for someone who has been hoping to find a place like this.
THE SUPPORT IS REAL
Our Clinical Director, Suzanne O'Brien LPC-S, RPT™, CCST, EMDR-Trained, runs monthly group consults, organizes exclusive training opportunities throughout the year, and holds monthly one-on-one check-ins to make sure you feel grounded both professionally and personally. Her warm, welcoming presence makes space to talk through unusual cases or explore where you'd like your own growth to go.
Ensemble was founded in 2015 by our CEO, Jaclyn Sepp MA, LPC-S, RPT-S™, NCC, RYT® 200, on the belief that healing happens within a community of support. She spent more than a decade in Austin-area schools before founding Ensemble to give therapists more freedom to serve clients well. She built this practice with clinicians in mind, and that intention runs through everything we do.
