Financial Assistance for Therapy

We recognize that for many families, there are significant barriers to quality mental health services. We believe therapy is an important element for someone’s healing, and we aim to make it accessible to children, teens, and families in need. Below are several options to explore if you are in need of financial assistance to make therapy possible for your child or family.

Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES)

Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) are $1,500 one-time online grants for eligible parents/caregivers of eligible students served by special education.

To be eligible for the pdSES grant, students must currently be:

  • Enrolled in a Texas public school,

  • Enrolled in PreK - 12th grade,

  • And a student with a disability served through Special Education.

Ensemble Therapy’s Whole Child. Whole City. Initiative

Philosophy:

At Ensemble Therapy, our therapeutic philosophy is based on the foundational belief that all children deserve equal access to mental health resources. As we practice acceptance and inclusion and honor diverse identities, the healing benefits ripple through the family system and the community at large. Healthy children grow up to be healthy adults. Healthy children and adults form healthy, whole communities.

WCWC Initiative

The generous donations we receive from our Whole Child. Whole City. initiative enables us to offer discounted or free counseling sessions to families in Austin who otherwise would not have the financial resources to do so. As of June 2023, we have funded 89 counseling sessions for 11 families, allowing 7 of our clinical staff to be compensated their full rate for sliding scale sessions.

Ensemble Therapy’s Sliding Fee Discount Program

Purpose:

All clients seeking mental health care services at Ensemble Therapy are assured that they will be served regardless of ability to pay. No one is refused service because of lack of financial means to pay. This program is designed to provide free or discounted care to those who have no means, or limited means, to pay for their mental health services.

Ensemble Therapy offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program to all who are unable to pay for their services. Ensemble Therapy will base program eligibility on a person’s ability to pay and will not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Eligibility is determined by the client’s reported budget for mental health care services. The Federal Poverty Guidelines are used in creating and annually updating the sliding fee schedule to determine eligibility.
