Business Coaching for Play Therapy Practices

Consulting and Mentorship for Play Therapists & Child-Focused Clinicians to Build Sustainable, Aligned, and Impactful Businesses

Grow your play therapy practice with the same presence, playfulness, and connection you offer to children and families.

Running a practice that serves children, teens, and caregivers is rewarding — and complex. Unlike general therapy practices, play therapy and child-focused work come with unique business considerations, including:

  • Engaging caregivers as part of the treatment process

  • Balancing developmental needs with therapeutic models

  • Creating safe, creative spaces that honor children’s voices

  • Training teams in specialized approaches that aren’t always widely understood

Build a partnership of care with your business

At Ensemble Therapy, we’ve spent over a decade building a thriving child-centered group practice. Now, we’re offering business coaching, consulting, and mentorship tailored for play therapy private and group practices so you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Who It’s For

  • Solo private practice owners who want to bring their practice into alignment with their values (with or without future plans to expand)

  • Therapists ready to grow from a solo child practice into a group model

  • Group practice owners working with children, adolescents, and families who want clarity in leadership and systems

  • Clinicians feeling like the “bottleneck” in caregiver communication, scheduling, or supervision

  • Practice leaders seeking to grow their team’s skills in evidence-based, child-focused care

Our Approach

We know that supporting children means supporting their entire ecosystem, from parents to siblings to schools and communities. Coaching with us isn’t about cookie-cutter business strategy; it’s about weaving together your clinical expertise with practical, sustainable systems that truly serve kids and families.

You bring your passion for working with children. We’ll bring our lived experience building a child-centered group practice that continues to grow and thrive. Together, we’ll create a business that feels as playful, connected, and purposeful as the therapy you provide.

What we can work on together

Our coaching and mentorship is customized to reflect the unique needs of child and adolescent practices, and is based on years of clinical experience scaling a group practice into a thriving, sustainable team.

Intentional Caseload Development

Support your solo practice or team of play therapists with intentional, relational onboarding processes and strategies to build a full, values-aligned caseload while maintaining clear clinical boundaries and creating work-life rhythms without rushing readiness or compromising clinical depth.

Values-Aligned Growth

Develop integrated systems for intake coordination, DEI initiatives, training programs, and learning centers to create an operational structure that supports clinical excellence, community impact, and long-term stability.

Ethical Marketing Practices

Shift your approach to marketing and visibility to prioritize community care and consent-based practices that de-emphasize scarcity-driven messaging and invite clients to engage from an empowered place of agency.

Sustainable & Accessible Pricing

Align fee structures with rates that honor clinician expertise, reduce barriers to care with models like sliding scale pricing, and learn how to include partnerships with government assistance programs, scholarships, or fundraising initiatives to expand access sustainably.

Scale Without Sacrifice

Expand your team and services at a pace that protects clinical integrity and deepens relational culture around a shared vision, with guidance from a practice that grew from a small group to a thriving team of 15+ clinicians.

Nervous System Care

Run a thriving group practice that models trauma-informed somatic practices and centers clinician wellbeing, including support and strategies to prioritize personal therapy, rest, consultation, and community engagement.

Identity-Affirming Leadership

Build a practice that is affirming and inclusive of LGBTQIA2-S+, BIPOC, and marginalized communities, and foster a team culture that celebrates clinician identities, and deepens client safety, representation, and belonging. Gently interrogate your own identities from a space of cultural humility and community care.

Revenue Growth

Structure team compensation, schedules, referral flow, and everyday operations to support sustainability over urgency and increase your annual revenue without team burnout or sacrificing depth-oriented care for clients.

Design for Real Life

Bench test the policies and structures of your practice to ensure they make space for personal needs, family, creativity, continued training, and long-term professional growth. Find what feels like enough so expansion reaches equilibrium.
