Lisa J. Black, MEd, LPC-S, RPT, NCC


Lisa J. Black earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University in 2008 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1995.

She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011 and a National Certified Counselor since 2014. In 2017, Lisa earned the designation of Registered Play Therapist. 

Lisa has provided services to individuals and families of Southeast Texas in diverse settings, including private practice, community health clinic setting, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System, Juvenile Justice Detention Center. 

In 2019, she made the transition as a long-time resident of Beaumont, Texas to Austin where she will continue to provide services to children, adolescents and adults. Lisa’s interest, specialties and passions include child-centered play therapy, Animal Assisted Play Therapy™ with her lab mix, Finley, EMDR and working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA. Lisa enjoys hiking, kayaking, and getting to know her new home town of Austin.
